Impact: 1,325 Children Reached

The Kanungu Primary School Football League (KPSFL)
This football league is the first of it’s kind in the Kanungu area. This league will help nurture, build, and develop the children of Kanungu through the one game they love, football. Through weekly sessions, weekly match days and in-class weekend sessions, all students will be provided with an atmosphere where they will have the potential to grow substantially not only as footballers, but more importantly as people.

Our Partners

  • Volunteer Uganda (VU) –  The main goal of Volunteer Uganda is to support communities in Uganda to rise out of poverty and help bring sustainable development through education. VU is an award winning group of organizations dedicated to supporting communities in rural southwest Uganda in their efforts to rise out of povrety. As the primary partner for the FFTW’s KPSFL project in Kanungu, VU will assist the Foundation in our preliminary organization of the league and our continued efforts throughout the league season.
  • Kanungu Talent (K-Talent) is an organization which is set up to give children in the Kanungu all the right tools, quality training, and future opportunities to explore and develop their talents. K-Talent’s primary goal in the KKPSFL will be to help develop local footballers by providing organized and advanced training sessions for all youth involved. In addition to this, K-Talent’s role will be to invest resources from the FFTW to advance the abilities of local school teachers and other coaches in the area to create a sustainable football environment for all.
  • Arsenal Football Club – Arsenal will be directly partnering with us through the Arsenal in the Community program in order to provide the best possible training in the area. Coaches will be sent directly from the London Club to work with local coaches enrolled in our “Coaching the Coaches” program and will each be assigned their own team to lead during the season. These Arsenal coaches will be responsible for overseeing participants’ development both on the pitch and off.
  • Smart Uganda – Smart Telecom is East Africa’s leading telecommunications provider. Smart has been a proud supporter of the KPSFL and has provided new kits (jerseys, shorts, socks) and training balls for all teams participating in the league.  In addition, Smart employees will be heavily involved as volunteers during FFTW’s Kanungu Community Days.
